What is a Voluntary Business Led Partnership
A voluntary business led partnership is a collaboration of local stakeholders such as office occupiers, landowners, businesses and statutory bodies who come to together to form a business alliance, a collective voice so as to influence policy in the area around such issues as public realm and environmental/greening. Each member of the partnership pays an annual contribution.
Local businesses, authorities and landlords co-operate to ensure that this opportunity benefits the whole area and the local community.
In the case of Old Street, businesses agreed to collectively establish a voluntary partnership with a long term aspiration of developing a BID, This would fund the compliance work involved in developing a BID, fund the development of brand identity and also fund a series of demonstration projects to highlight to business the benefits of working as a collective.
