Old Street is a vibrant and exciting area with lots to offer those who work and visit during the day and thriving night time economy. We want everyone to enjoy their experience of Old Street and feel safe and secure whilst working and visiting the area.
Over the coming year the partnership will look at safety as a priority and will work with local business, the Metropolitan Police, Greater London Authority to look at the impact and demands on the area.
The partnership will work closely with local charities providers to engage with those vulnerable or sleeping rough in the Old Street area and inform them of the services available to them. The partnership will carry out a perception survey, asking businesses of their views on low level crime and anti-social behaviour and how this may be improved for those working and visiting the area.
With the introduction of the Night Time tube it is important that we monitor the impact on the environment around Old Street both during the day and at night time. Working closely with Tfl and other partners we will monitor ticket gateway and crime statistics and tackle any negative trends identified.
With Business Continuity high in everyone’s minds the partnership will work together with the Metropolitan Police to run a programme of tabletop exercises on fraud awareness, counter terrorism and intelligence sharing to raise awareness within the business community.
